Before calling Calgary her home, multimedia artist Martina MacDonald- Blēriot lived in Paris, France where she wrote and illustrated historical-award winning- children books for Art Publisher Adrien Maeght. Curator Dr. Caterina Pizanias describes this “New Alberta Contemporary” as someone “who paints for the love of it and produces works that are pleasing to the eyes of the viewer.” Martina holds two Bachelor degrees- with distinction- from the Alberta College of Art+Design. Nota Bene: ad “The New Alberta Contemporaries: “Flower Power”, the work donated by Martina for the KOAC Fundraiser, was selected to participate in this opening exhibition at the Esker Foundation in 2012.
