David John Foy and Jennifer Saleik have combined their artistic interests and talents as DaveandJenn since 2004. Foy, hailing from Edmonton, and Saleik, originally from Velbert, Germany, both earned BFAs With Distinction from ACAD in 2006.

DaveandJenn collaborations result in richly detailed works, exploring the long view of human and natural histories intertwined with private spectacles and inner landscapes. Alternating multiple layers of paint and resin, DavidandJenn slowly build a final, lavish image overflowing with tiny details. Their process calls to mind techniques used in collage, celluloid animation, and Victorian shadow boxes. DaveandJenn were awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Biennial Emerging Artist Award (2010), were shortlisted for the RBC Canadian Painting Competition (2006, 2009), and were longlisted for the Sobey Art Award (2011).  Most recently, their work was included in: Oh Canada, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts traveling exhibition; and Le Projet Peinture / The Painting Project for Galerie de l’UQAM. Solo exhibitions include: No End at the Art Gallery of Alberta; A Natural History of Islands at Nickle Galleries; and Thin Skin / Thick Hide at the 2015 Art Toronto. Their work is found in private and public collections all over North America, including Royal Bank of Canada; Alberta Foundation for the Arts; Calgary Municipal Collection; and the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
