Linda Craddock – Artist Supporter

Feb 21, 2020 | Appreciation, News

Linda Craddock understands that none of us live exclusively in the present. To Craddock, the concept of now coalesces our personal and collective experiences within a shared, current framework of simply existing. She explores the layers of conflict between conscious and subconscious memory, dreams, and reality in her work. Her latest series, Levitas, explores the experience of transcending the bounds of gravity in our dreams and spiritual aspirations.

Craddock graduated from ACAD with a Diploma (1974) and a BFA (1982), going on to earn her MFA from the University of Calgary (1988). She has taught photography through Calgary Board of Education, Red Deer College, and is a sessional instructor for the Departments of both Art and Continuing Education at the University of Calgary. Craddock is currently assisting with the development of the new Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre (KOAC).

Craddock’s work has been featured at the Art Gallery of Alberta (Edmonton), Glenbow Museum, Nickle Arts Museum, and the Whyte Museum (Banff). Her work has been exhibited internationally in the U.S., Poland, and Czech Republic, as well as in Canada, including a touring exhibition with the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography. Solo exhibitions include: the Visual Arts Alberta Gallery (Edmonton); One on One Gallery (Medicine Hat College); Latitude 53 (Edmonton); Off Centre Centre (Calgary); and commercial galleries in several provinces. The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Art Gallery of Alberta, and the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography (Ottawa) have acquired Craddock’s work for their permanent collections, as have numerous corporate and private collectors.

We’re proud to have Linda Craddock’s support for the KO Arts Centre.
