Sandrine Demeure is an award-winning Belgian ceramic artist who studied with Katie Ohe in Calgary in 1985. A friend of both Katie Ohe and Harry Kiyooka, Demeure has worked for three summers in Ohe’s studio (1998, 2004, 2006). She is also a printmaker and a member of the KOAC Outreach Program.  Demeure works as a professional geologist and photographer while creating and exhibiting her ceramic sculpture in Brussels where she lives. She graduated with a Diploma in Ceramics from Ecole des Arts d’Ixelles, in Bruxelles, Belgium (2007), and studied under Lucie Sentjens (1998-present) and Nathalie Joiris (1998-2005). Demeure has done residencies and workshops with Rudie Delanghe, Emile Desmedt, Vincent Beague, Jean-Claude Legrand, Claude Champy, and Michel Cohen (France). Demeure is an Associate Member of the WCC-FB World Crafts Council in Belgium.
