ABOUT NIMKII’S RESIDENCY

As a storyteller, nimkii weaves stories that bridge gaps between liberation and social justice movements, with a focus on queer histories, environmentalism, present day politics and colonialism. They approach their work through a careful two-eyed-seeing lens, placing these histories and truths into personal, understandable and digestible realities into conversation with each other through narrative. During their residency, they worked on drawings and ceramic sculptures that explore the relationship between memory and violence.
