During most of her artistic career Barbara Milne has worked in both the studio and on location, producing a sizable body of paintings and drawings. Like many artists working within the genre of landscape, Milne’s paintings are rich in symbols and metaphors. Her work derives from memory- the shapes, colours, and textures of the areas she explores and later remembers. Milne reconstructs these experiences of place with works that embody a recollection of previous paintings, histories, and styles. Milne’s work is collected widely in museum, corporate, and private collections.
