Paul Kuhn is well known as the owner of Paul Kuhn Gallery: founded nearly 35 years ago as Calgary’s first contemporary art gallery, Paul Kuhn Gallery was for many years the only venue presenting experimental art and emerging artists. However, Kuhn is also an established artist in his own right.
Kuhn studied at the University of Victoria, earning a BFA with Distinction (1974); he then completed an MA at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon (1976). Solo exhibitions include shows at: Paul Kuhn Gallery (2000); Diane Farris Gallery, Vancouver (1993, 1990, 1989, 1987); Martin Gerard Gallery, Edmonton (1980). Group exhibitions include: Alma Gallery, Guelph, Ontario (2009); Paul Kuhn Gallery (2009); RECENT GIFTS, Glenbow Museum (1992); Art Core, Vancouver (1979); Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (1974).
